Homebound Meals Preparation and Delivery - Pictures

Octoberfest was the annual theme of this month’s Homebound Meal. The meal featured brats and old-fashioned wieners from Usinger Sausage, enhanced sauerkraut, boiled and buttered potatoes, rye bread, baked apples, and chocolate cookies. The volunteers had a great time getting the 160-plus meals ready for the delivery volunteers, who bring the meals to our friends. As usual, everyone worked hard but happily on behalf of our homebound parishioners. Thank you to our good friends and fellow parishioners at Baumann’s Bakery for their generosity and their dedication. We also send a huge thank you to Paul and Sarah Thelen of Hillside Orchards in Berrien Springs, Michigan, for their generous help in providing the wonderful apples we used to make the dessert. Hillside Orchards is a regular vendor at the Sunday morning Farmers’ Market at 95th & Longwood Drive.
