Johnny Appleseed Day - The students in kindergarten and first grade recently celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day. Each of the classes switched rooms so that everyone got to participate in activities such as apple tasting, hat making and story time. What a fun day!

Children’s Literature Presentation by Author Heidi Bee Roemer - Recently, author Heidi Bee Roemer visited the second and eighth grade classes and shared with them excerpts from her books. Mrs. Roemer got the students involved throughout her presentation and had the second graders act out movements to her poems. It was a also a great opportunity to find out how an author gets started and Mrs. Roemer showed everyone her first-draft notebooks filled with her stories, poems and ideas. It took her first book five years to get published! Mrs. Roemer signed two of her books and you can find them in the St. Christina Library.
