St. Christina Class of 2011 Plants a Tree for Arbor Day - Pictures
April 2011
The St. Christina Eighth Grade Class of 2011 donated and planted a tree in front of the St. Christina Rectory in observance of Arbor Day and also as their class gift. With the help of William Quinn & Sons Landscaping Contractors, each eighth grader took a turn shoveling dirt around the tree. There was a release of red and white balloons symbolizing a letting go and starting a new chapter in their lives as they enter high school. There was also an engraved plaque placed by the tree for all to see.
What a great way the eighth grade class has chosen to celebrate Arbor Day this year! Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. In years to come, the Class of 2011 will be able to see the care we give to their tree. It will be their living gift they leave behind as they graduate.
