The beginning of a new school year also brings new friendships for the second and eighth grade students. The eighth grade classes recently met with their second grade buddies to exchange adoption certificates, bless each other with holy water, and spend time getting to know one another. The meeting began in the classroom where homemade cards were exchanged, and then moved outside to Mary’s Plaza for the official adoption ceremony. Every pair of buddies was announced and they took turns blessing their new buddy with the sign of the cross on their foreheads. This event is just one of many that will take place throughout the school year as the students continue to spend time together. The buddy program for the eighth graders and second graders allows them to form strong bonds throughout the year as they both prepare to receive sacraments.
