Kate Sanchez, Principal for the Day, had an exciting day at school as she assumed the responsibilities the job entailed. Kate’s mom won the silent auction item for her at the Oktoberfest school fundraiser. “She was made for the job,” according to school principal, Mary Stokes. “After seeing her in action, I feel I could take a day off and Kate could take over.” Responsibilities included greeting students outside at arrival, morning prayers and birthday announcements, visiting classrooms, and lunchroom duty. Special treat for the day was picking a friend to eat lunch with and ordering in from Jimmy John’s. After her day’s work Kate indicated she may want to pursue the job in the future.
