According to Archdiocesan policy all employees and volunteers, 18 years of age and older, who come in contact with children MUST attend Virtus/Protecting God’s Children Training. This training is MANDATORY.
St. Christina is offering training on Saturday, August 31 at 10 am in the School Hall. The training session is about 2-1/2 hours long. This requirement applies to the following, but is not limited to: Parents who wish to go on field trips, coaches and assistant coaches, Religious Education Teachers, Boy and Girl Scout Leaders and assistant leaders, cheerleader coaches and assistant coaches, Youth Ministry Leaders, SPRED friends, ushers and all volunteers who may have any contact with children need to attend. You are required to be on-time for the training and cannot leave early. Late arrivals will not be admitted. No one under 18 years of age is allowed in the training session.
If you have never attended a Virtus/Protecting God’s Children training session you MUST attend now or you will NOT be able to work with the children of our parish in any capacity.
Pre-registration online is required. You may choose any Virtus training session that is convenient for you.
To register for the training whether at St. Christina or other locations:
- Log on to www.virtusonline.org
- Click on Registration
- Click on Begin the Registration Process
- Select your Archdiocese - Select Chicago, IL
- Create your own user ID and Password
- Complete all fields marked with an *
- Select session you would like to attend.
If you attend a training session at a location other than St. Christina, please contact Joyce Maxwell at the Rectory at 773-779-7181, for additional paperwork you must complete. Those attending the training at St. Christina will receive the paperwork at the end of the session along with their Virtus Training Certificate.
You only have to attend one Virtus training session. It is not a requirement each year.
